Miriam Mast
April 21, 2025
Hi. My name is Miriam, and I have been at New Beginnings since the second week in November of 2024. I had just left the Amish religion and felt I needed a place to get my bearings and grow in my newfound faith. On November 7th, I was saved by God’s grace and faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. It was so freeing to realize that NO amount of works will gain me a place in heaven. It’s all been done for me and you. All we need to do is believe. I could say much more about this, but that is not exactly what I intended to write about!
I found New Beginnings Homestead to be what I needed at the time. The staff is excellent and always there for you. Joe and Esther are also amazing people and have been a great help to me. The Bible Studies and prayer meetings we had every week always inspired me.
We also had some fun outings that will be cherished memories to look back on, and the art and craft projects we did together were always fun and engaging as well.
But, it wasn’t all play! I studied with Rachel’s class to get my GED and managed to get that in two months’ time! She’s a super teacher, and I hope God blesses her for what she has done for many students who had the privilege of calling her “Teacher!”
I also got my driver’s permit while here and hope to get my official license soon. However, that may wait until I get back home in Colorado.
I plan to be back in Colorado by May 1st. I will miss my job as a cashier at Beyond Measure Market, and all the kind people I got to know as an employee there, but I feel like it’s time to move on. I got what I was looking for at New Beginnings Homestead and would recommend it to any young girl just stepping out of the Amish. They are here to help.
