WESTMORELAND COUNTY, VA — Two people were injured in a crash involving a horse-drawn buggy in Westmoreland County Friday evening, Crime Insider sources tell Jon Burkett.
According to sources, three people were riding in the buggy when they were hit by a driver. Two of the occupants were flown to VCU Medical Center in Richmond for treatment of their injuries, while the other occupant was unharmed.

Eight Amish people were hurled through the air when a pickup truck slammed into the back of their horse-drawn buggy in upstate New York, police said.
A 6-year-old boy was hospitalized and a horse was killed when 73-year-old Laurie Callan struck the loaded wagon from behind with her 2012 Dodge while traveling on Route 5 in Danube shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to New York State Police.

CANTON, OH ‒ The Ohio State Highway Patrol has cited a 29-year-old Mansfield man in connection with a crash that seriously injured two children who were passengers in a horse-drawn Amish buggy traveling in Sugar Creek Township.
The driver was cited for failing to maintain assured clear distance and distracted driving, both minor misdemeanors.

BUCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA - A Dillwyn resident is now facing charges, including DUI, in connection with a weekend crash in Buckingham County involving an Amish buggy.
The Virginia State Police reports the crash occurred around 5:55 p.m. Sunday on South Constitution Route, just north of the intersection with North James Madison Highway.

A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a horse-drawn buggy left one woman injured on Tuesday, Aug. 26, in Gladwin County, the Gladwin County Sheriff's Office said.
The 61-year-old woman was transported to MyMichigan Medical Center Gladwin where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said. A 17-year-old male in the buggy and a 45-year-old Hersey, Michigan, man who was in the truck were not injured.

GLADWIN CO, MI – An Amish woman was injured and taken to the hospital following a buggy and semi-truck crash, according to the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said they were called to investigate a crash on Tuesday, Aug. 26 at about 7:40 a.m. in Beaverton Township.

GLADWIN, MI - An Amish woman died after a Jeep crashed into an Amish buggy Friday afternoon, according to police.
According to the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office, the buggy was headed northbound on Round Lake Road when it was hit from behind by a 2016 Jeep Cherokee.

Sheriff’s deputies charged 35-year-old Larissa Carlin of Lisbon with a felony count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

OWINGSVILLE, KY – On Thursday, July 24, 2025, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 Morehead was notified by Bath County Dispatch of a hit and run collision on KY 11 in Bath County involving a Amish horse and buggy.
Preliminary investigation shows that Ricardo Geronimo Salas, 21, of Mt. Sterling was operating his Toyota Camry along KY 11 when he struck a Amish buggy being pulled by a horse. After striking the buggy Mr. Salas stopped to check the damage on his car then fled the scene.
