Tyler and Justice Dick
Tyler and Justice Dick - Greenwich, OH
I came to faith in Jesus at a young age. However, I grew up in a broken family with a lot of struggles with my parents. I was a witness to substance abuse, foul language, and a lot of other sinful practices as a kid. My grandparents on both sides were always there for me pushing me towards Christ. I didn’t live a life that was very glorifying to God through middle school and high school. I pursued a lot of worldly things in those years, and it wasn’t until later in my high school years that the Lord really started getting ahold of my heart.
My Mom and Dad had really struggled to model a Godly Christian marriage and I knew that I had a choice to either live in my self-seeking ways or I could try and be different. I really began to take the Christian world view very serious, and it was at that time I was getting ready to propose to the love of my life, my girlfriend Justice. One of the things that really strengthened my relationship with God was my love for apologetics. The many hours that I put into the study of why I believe the Bible is inspired by God really helped me to trust that it could give me input on how to live a truly Godly life.
In my studies I felt the Lord called me into ministry. I want to share why the Bible is reliable and I want to help people understand the Bible in its context. I want people to know that they can have hope in their death, and that Jesus came to save sinners like you and me. I love learning about, and my intention is to go to seminary after I finish my undergraduate Lord willing!
I didn’t grow up in a Christian home and came to faith in Jesus when I was seventeen. Growing up sin was normalized in my household. There was never an emphasis on God and the way we lived wasn’t seen as wrong. It wasn’t until my junior year of high school when I started to question the way I lived. I wasn’t content with the lifestyle or the toxic attitude towards the world. I began to seek answers and figure out what it was I knew I was missing.
During my senior year of high school, the Lord placed man people in my life who guided me through this doubt. I had so many questions but there was always someone there to answer them for me. After I made the decision to follow Christ, I realized how little I knew about the Bible. I wanted more so I decided to attend the Bible Institute. This year really grew me and stretched me, I grew a huge passion for ministry.
After the Bible Institute I got married and desired to pursue the Lord more. My passion for people grew, I wanted to help others and share the gospel through the love I experienced during my questioning. I have a heart for people and want to serve in any way I can. Lord willing, I will complete my undergraduate in Christian Counseling and be able to serve in ministry helping people full time.
