Music for the Family

John Schmid is the founder and director of Common Ground Ministries. This unique ministry, based in Berlin, Ohio, is a singing ministry with a focus on prisons in the Ohio Corrections System.  John’s unique style of singing, a blend of country/folk/gospel, with a touch of the contemporary, has gained him audiences in a wide variety of settings, from prisons to embassies, high schools, rest homes, churches, army bases, concert halls, and living rooms.

Take a little bluegrass, high mountain country, throw in a little yodel, a little bit of storytelling, amazing three & four part harmony, mix it in with fiddle, guitar, mandolin, & dobro instrumentals and you've got the Conley • Schmidt show.

The "All Amish" web site offers two CD's that contain mostly German singing, preaching and praying. For those who grew up going to the Amish church, you will appreciate both CDs, which "All Amish" offers on their site.

In the production of these albums, the Esh's goal was to make music that fed people spiritually. They produced this music simply to bless people and to glorify God. Most of the family members sing together on these CDs, and many of the songs they composed themselves. Profits from these sales benefit the Marrowbone Christian Brotherhood's mission in Brazil, where two of John and Sadie's children serve currently.
