February 18, 2009

I left the Amish "and my family" on a beautiful Sunday afternoon 10 months ago not knowing what would become of my life, not realizing what a big step I was taking.

I moved in the basement apartment at Joe and Esther's home. After two weeks I went to work for Joe at the MAP Ministry, where I worked for 6 months enjoying every moment of it. Working there taught me a lot of new stuff about the Bible I never knew. I often heard someone talking about being born again, but I didn't really give it a thought at first, because at home we never talked about such things and when someone became a member of the church and got baptized I thought they are just doing it to give themselves under all those rules, and to me that was a scary thought. I was hoping I would never have to go through that and I never did. Praise God!

After I was at Joe and Esther's, I got a Bible of my own. I thought this is fantastic to have a Bible of my very own. Joe told me what Born Again means and that there is eternal life, John 3:3, "Except a man to be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God..." I got saved three months after I left, It's wonderful to be forgiven and have Jesus in my heart. I praise and thank my almighty God for His everlasting love.

One of my favorite verses on baptism is Matthew 3:16, When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold the heavens were opened to Him, descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
