June 14, 2026

An 11-year-old Amish boy was seriously injured and a horse died after his horse-drawn carriage was struck by a car in Michigan.

According to the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was operating the horse-drawn buggy in Beaverton Township, a rural area in the state’s lower Peninsula, just after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — An 11-year-old Amish child has been hospitalized and a horse was killed after a crash in Gladwin County.

The Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. on Wednesday in Beaverton Township, about 20 miles northeast of Mount Pleasant.


June 10, 2026

ELKHART COUNTY, IN – A man was taken to the hospital and another was arrested after a crash involving a horse-drawn buggy Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. at State Road 13 and County Road 24, about a mile south of Middlebury.

ADAMS COUNTY, IN – One person is dead, and another was injured in a crash in Adams County on Sunday.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says authorities were dispatched to the intersection of State Road 124 and County Road 200 East around 2 a.m. on reports of a collision involving a semi-truck and a horse-drawn buggy.


June 1, 2026

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, IN – A woman is accused of crashing into a buggy while driving intoxicated, injuring five people including a baby.

Kosciusko County police said Jakaila Miracle, 25, of Goshen was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, battery with bodily waste and disorderly conduct.


May 31, 2026

CARROLL COUNTY, KY — A child is dead and two others were hurt after a horse-drawn Amish buggy was hit in Carroll County Saturday night.

According to Kentucky State Police, a horse and buggy with three juvenile occupants was rear-ended by a car around 8:40 p.m.


May 26, 2026

PAW PAW, MI — A 32-year-old woman will spend more than five years in prison for causing a crash that killed an 8-year-old Amish girl and seriously injured her 12-year-old brother.

Sheila Kershner was sentenced to at least six years in prison on charges of operating while intoxicated causing death. She was also sentenced two to five years for an additional charge of operating while intoxicated causing injury that will be served concurrently.


May 23, 2026

WISCONSIN – A 56-year-old man and a horse were both killed after a pickup truck slammed into them from behind on a Wisconsin highway.

On Tuesday, May 19, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office (LCSC) responded to reports of a collision between a truck and a buggy in the town of Willow Springs, according to local outlets WMTV, WKOW and The Monroe Times.

WILLOW SPRINGS, WI — A man and a horse died following a crash with a pickup truck in the Town of Willow Springs on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 4:18 p.m. in the 1700 block of State Highway 23 in the Town of Willow Springs.


May 14, 2026

VERSAILLES, MO – A baby, three children, and two adults from Versailles are in serious condition after an SUV slammed into their horse and buggy.

Troopers were called to the crash on Route C east of Gracey Creek Road around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Several people were hurt when an SUV hit a horse and buggy in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online crash report states that the crash happened on Route C, east of Gracey Creek Road, at 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.


May 5, 2026

A man is dead and two other people are hurt after a car hit an Amish buggy in Logan County over the weekend.

The crash happened on State Route 235 in Washington Township just after 8 a.m. on Saturday, according to a Logan County Sheriff’s Office crash report.


May 4, 2026

BELLEFONTAINE, OH – One person is dead, and two are critically injured after a crash involving an SUV and an Amish buggy on Saturday, May 2.

According to our partners at Peak of Ohio, deputies were first called to State Route 235 near Country Road 13 just after 8 a.m. on Saturday.


April 20, 2026

A man accused of killing two kids in a crash involving a pickup and horse-drawn cart is facing multiple charges.

Jason D. Hoover faces six charges that include Causing Death when Operating a Motor Vehicle while intoxicated and Causing Bodily Injury when Operating a Vehicle While intoxicated.


April 14, 2026

Multiple people were reportedly injured following a crash involving a horse-and-buggy and another vehicle Tuesday in Lancaster County.

Dispatch confirmed the crash happened around 4:21 p.m. at the intersection of Meadville and Mount Zion Roads in Salisbury Township.


April 6, 2026

RIO GRANDE, OH — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash involving an Amish buggy that occurred Thursday night in Gallia County.

The crash was reported at about 9:02 p.m. on April 3 at State Route 325 and Wolf Run Road, according to a highway patrol media release.


April 4, 2026

GALLIA COUNTY, OH – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash involving an Amish buggy that happened on Friday, April 3, according to a press release.

The release states that the crash happened just after 9 PM on State Route 325 at the intersection of Wolf Run Road.


March 23, 2026

MIDDLE GROVE, MO — The driver of a horse-drawn buggy was killed over the weekend in Randolph County when an SUV rear-ended the buggy.

The tragedy happened just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday on Route M, three miles west of Middle Grove.

Missouri state troopers say both vehicles involved were westbound.


March 19, 2026

WISCONSIN — A 38-year-old man in Wisconsin has been charged with homicide after a fatal crash resulted in the death of an Amish man. 

According to charging documents, Trevor Olson was driving home from work when he struck the buggy carrying a man and a juvenile. Olson allegedly initially told officers he went to take a sip of his soda before the buggy suddenly appeared in the middle of the road.


March 10, 2026

WILMINGTON TWP, PA – A horse was injured after a crash involving two vehicles and a horse-drawn buggy in Wilmington Township, Pennsylvania, on Monday morning.

According to a release, the crash occurred just before 7 a.m. on State Route 208, near the intersection of State Route 18 heading westbound.


March 3, 2026

SALISBURY TWP, PA — A 65-year-old Paradise Township woman was killed Wednesday after a minivan struck the back of her horse and buggy in Lancaster County, according to authorities.

The Lancaster County Coroner identified the victim as Mary Ruth Stoltzfus, of South Kinzer Road in Paradise Township.


February 11, 2026

Four people were injured when a vehicle crashed into an Amish buggy in Jackson Township.

According to a report from the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred Tuesday morning along U.S. Route 42.


February 24, 2026

The two children who died from the deadly crash in Elkhart County on Friday have been identified.

According to police, 8-year-old Jenna Miller and 7-year-old Derek Bontrager were killed when a truck crashed into the back of the horse-drawn cart.


February 16, 2026

BRYAN, OH – A Williams County man already facing charges for allegedly fleeing the scene of an Amish buggy crash was charged once again on OVI charges in Indiana.

Michael Quillen, of Bryan, was arrested near Angola, Indiana, according to court documents. He faces new OVI-endangerment charges for the Feb. 15 incident, which happened just days before his scheduled court appearance in Williams County.


January 9, 2026

The New York State Police said a horse was killed after a pickup truck crashed into an Amish buggy in Pittsfield, Otsego County, N.Y.

Troopers responded to the crash on County Highway 13 near Mooretown Road around 3:18 p.m. on Jan. 8. An investigation determined that the Ford pickup truck was on County Highway 13 when the driver drifted right and struck the horse.


January 8, 2026

A man is now facing homicide charges after a deadly horse and buggy crash in Lancaster County on Thursday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Troopers said a Dodge Caravan struck the rear of a horse and buggy in the 4000 block of Strasburg Road/Route 741 near Hoover Road in Salisbury around 1:30 p.m.
