We all face Crossroads in Life...

Life is full of crossroads...times in life where you must decide the direction you will take.

The options look somewhat harmless or maybe even enticing and at other times they may look overwhelming.

When you come to a crossroad in life you may notice the majority going one way(the way of least resistance).. and you know that God wants you to go the 'road less traveled'. You know you would have a lot of support by following the world(mans government) BUT you have made a decision to follow Jesus.

The way of the cross will have pain, rejection, misunderstandings, accusations, unjust trials, but remember Jesus took His cross upon Himself to complete the mission the Father had for Him. Now He wants you and me to take up our cross and follow Him.

In the 'heat of battle' we might struggle with discouragement, maybe almost to the point of despair, yet we wait upon the Lord and He renews our strength, and we mount up with wings as eagles.

Years ago many of our grandfathers went to CO camps because they were conscientious objectors which were exempt from being directly involved in warfare. Some of them suffered immensely for their conviction. Now it seems we have 'spiritual CO's' or let's say 'spiritual conscientious objectors'. These are so-called Christians that refuse to engage in spiritual warfare. These are Christians that take the path of least resistance.

Come on now... let's take the path the Lord wants us to take.... regardless of the consequences... because He wants you on that path for His purpose.

Which way will you take 'at the crossroads'?

I love this post Simon Peter. It is so much about what our walk with the Lord is all about. Crossroads. As an Amish man, many of your crossroads were not provided-my guess is you simply didn't have (or many)crossroads if you were Amish. You were not in the world (really) or of the world. Now you are finding out what englishers experience, as believers. I feel like my whole Christian life has been crossroads, being in the world but not of the world. Not always choosing the right way. A life set apart-to an englisher-living a life set apart has a whole different meaning then to an Amish. So, we don't have a bishop dictating our choices. We have to sharpen our Holy Spirit discernment, and listen to that still small voice, that says "this is the way, now walk in it". Regardless. And we often feel like salmon swimming upstream. And we are the peculiar people in our own way-not based on plain clothes or whatever-but in the many many choices life presents to us-(all things being lawful, but not all things being profitable) and being willing to be critisized or as you say, misunderstood, when we chose to follow Christ and not go the way of our peers-leading a compromising life is miserable-Choose ye this day whom you will serve, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord-any other road is not worth travelling on. Crossroad, or Cross Road. This is another reason fellowship is so important!
